Getting Started with M0XY

Welcome to M0XY! This guide walks you through the basics of preparing your Discord server, installing the bot, and configuring your first features.

Development Notice

M0XY is currently in development and is not yet available for public installation. This guide will be updated as features become available.

1. Overview

M0XY is a customizable Discord bot designed to help server owners and administrators manage their communities.

Features being developed include:

  • Automated moderation and blocked-word filtering
  • Customizable warnings and moderation logging
  • Configurable punishment escalation
  • Reaction role panels
  • Custom Discord embeds
  • Streaming schedules
  • Planned TikTok creator integrations

2. Requirements

Before setting up M0XY, make sure you have:

  • An active Discord account
  • A Discord server you manage
  • The Manage Server permission, or equivalent authorization to add applications
  • Permission to configure the channels and roles M0XY will use

3. Installing M0XY

Once M0XY is publicly available, server administrators will be able to install the bot through an official installation link.

Coming Soon

The official M0XY installation link will be added here when public access becomes available.

4. Discord Permissions

M0XY requires different permissions depending on which features you enable.

Permission Purpose
View Channels Access configured channels
Send Messages Send notifications and responses
Embed Links Display custom embeds and logs
Manage Messages Remove messages that violate AutoMod rules
Manage Roles Assign and remove reaction roles
Moderate Members Apply timeouts when configured

Only grant permissions needed for the features you intend to use. Keep M0XY's role above roles it needs to manage, and above members it needs to time out.

5. Initial Configuration

After installing M0XY, administrators can begin configuring supported features using Discord slash commands.

  1. Enable AutoMod for your server.
  2. Add blocked words and select matching behavior.
  3. Configure exempt roles and channels if needed.
  4. Enable moderation logging.
  5. Configure warnings and punishment escalation.

Additional configuration options will become available as development continues.

6. Your First Commands

M0XY uses Discord slash commands. Type / in a channel where you can use application commands to see available commands.

/automod status Check the current AutoMod configuration.
