TikTok Integration

Explore M0XY's planned TikTok tools for multiple creators, account linking, LIVE and new-post alerts, customizable notifications, and creator management.

Development Notice

M0XY is still in development and is not available for public installation. The features below describe the intended Version 1.0 scope, not confirmed working commands or a guarantee of TikTok detection. Exact setup steps will be published after implementation and testing.

1. Overview

The planned TikTok integration is designed for Discord communities that want to follow several creators from one server. Each creator may have their own TikTok account, notification channel, and alert preferences.

Version 1.0 goals

  • Multiple authorized TikTok creators per Discord server.
  • Link a TikTok creator account to a specific Discord member.
  • LIVE notifications and new-post alerts.
  • Manual LIVE notifications controlled by linked or authorized users.
  • Custom alert embeds, destination channels, and mention roles.
  • Reminders, scheduling, notification history, and stream-ended message updates.
Availability

These capabilities are planned. No TikTok commands, creator authorization flow, automatic detection method, or delivery guarantees have been verified in the current M0XY build.

2. Required Permissions

M0XY will need the appropriate Discord permissions wherever it sends creator alerts.

PermissionPurpose
View ChannelAccess the notification destination.
Send MessagesPost LIVE and new-post alerts.
Embed LinksDisplay formatted notification embeds.
Read Message HistoryMay be required to locate and update prior notifications.
Mention permissionsNeeded when notifying selected roles, depending on role and channel settings.

Server administrators should also restrict configuration access to trusted staff or approved creator managers. TikTok account authorization is separate from Discord channel permissions.

3. Multiple Creators

The intended design supports more than one TikTok creator in a single Discord server. This is especially useful for communities whose creators stream separately.

Per-creator settings under consideration

  • Creator display name and TikTok account.
  • Linked Discord member.
  • LIVE alert channel and optional mention role.
  • New-post alert channel and optional mention role.
  • Individual alert formatting and notification preferences.

The number of creators allowed per plan and the final management interface have not been finalized.

4. Account Authorization & Linking

M0XY is planned to associate a TikTok creator with a specific Discord user. The goal is to ensure that creator-specific actions are limited to authorized members rather than allowing anyone to claim another creator's account.

Intended process

  1. A server manager requests to add a creator.
  2. The creator verifies control of the relevant TikTok account through a supported method.
  3. M0XY associates the verified creator account with the designated Discord user.
  4. Authorized managers configure channels, roles, and alerts.
  5. The creator or an authorized manager can manage permitted creator-specific actions.
Authorization is not LIVE detection

Verifying account ownership does not by itself guarantee that TikTok LIVE status or new posts can be detected. The final authorization mechanism, TikTok platform permissions, and available detection methods must be confirmed during development.

5. LIVE Notifications

The planned LIVE alert feature aims to notify a selected Discord channel when a configured creator begins streaming on TikTok.

Intended alert information

  • Creator name and TikTok profile or LIVE link, where available.
  • Optional role mention.
  • Customizable title, description, and embed styling.
  • Optional creator image or thumbnail, when supported.
  • Notification time and a link for viewers to join.
Detection limitations

Automatic LIVE detection may depend on TikTok's available interfaces, access permissions, and service reliability. M0XY cannot promise instant or uninterrupted detection before the integration is implemented and measured.

6. New-Post Notifications

New-post alerts are planned to help communities discover a creator's newly published TikTok videos without requiring members to check each profile manually.

  • Separate notification channels for new posts and LIVE streams.
  • Creator name and a link to the published post.
  • Optional mention role and custom embed message.
  • Duplicate protection to avoid reposting the same video.

Supported post types, detection intervals, and any platform restrictions will be documented after testing.

7. Manual LIVE Alerts

Manual alerts are planned as a way for an authorized creator to announce a LIVE session when automatic detection is delayed or unavailable.

Planned safeguards

  • Only the Discord member linked to that creator, or approved creator managers, can trigger an alert for that account.
  • Alerts use the creator's configured destination channel and mention settings.
  • Cooldowns help prevent repeated alerts and unwanted pings.
  • Duplicate protection checks whether a notification was already sent for the same session when possible.
Command names pending

No manual LIVE slash-command name or syntax is confirmed yet. This section describes intended behavior, not a command currently available in M0XY.

8. Notification Customization

The planned notification editor will allow server staff to give creator alerts a consistent look while allowing different settings for different creators.

SettingPlanned purpose
Destination channelChoose where LIVE or post alerts appear.
Mention roleNotify members who opt into creator alerts.
Embed title and descriptionCustomize the notification wording.
Color and imagesMatch community branding where supported.
Test notificationPreview alert formatting without a real LIVE event.

For general formatting guidance, see Custom Embeds. The final list of editable notification fields is subject to implementation.

9. Cooldowns, Reminders & History

M0XY's planned notification controls aim to reduce alert spam and make creator activity easier to review.

  • Cooldowns: Limit repeated manual or automatic notifications.
  • Duplicate protection: Avoid posting multiple alerts for the same event when identifiable.
  • LIVE reminders: Allow configured follow-up alerts for ongoing streams, subject to limits.
  • Notification history: Record alerts sent, their creator, destination, and delivery outcome where available.
Delivery expectations

Notification history cannot guarantee that every TikTok event was detected. Delays, missed events, duplicate platform signals, and unavailable account data are possible. Specific retry and monitoring behavior will be documented after testing.

10. LIVE Scheduling & Stream End

The planned TikTok feature includes tools for announcing upcoming LIVE sessions and updating a notification after a stream ends.

Intended capabilities

  • Schedule a planned LIVE announcement for a particular creator.
  • Show an upcoming start time and time zone.
  • Update or edit the existing LIVE notification after a stream ends, where supported.
  • Keep recurring streaming schedules separate from one-time LIVE alerts.

For weekly recurring schedules, see Streaming Schedules. The final distinction between scheduled announcements, detected LIVE starts, and automatic stream-ended edits will be confirmed during implementation.

11. Creator Managers & Testing

Creator managers are planned as trusted server members who can maintain creator settings without receiving unrestricted access to the entire bot configuration.

Suggested testing checklist

  1. Confirm the creator's account ownership and Discord association.
  2. Check the configured LIVE and post alert channels.
  3. Verify M0XY has channel permissions and can display embeds.
  4. Send a test notification once that control is available.
  5. Check that mention roles and formatting are correct.
  6. Test whether an unauthorized Discord member is prevented from triggering a creator's alert.
  7. Review duplicate prevention and notification history after real-world testing.

Exact manager permissions, test buttons, and audit details remain under development.

12. Troubleshooting

I cannot find TikTok commands

The integration is planned, and no public slash-command names are confirmed. Check future release notes before attempting setup.

A creator is linked but LIVE alerts are missing

Account verification and LIVE detection are different systems. Once available, check the creator configuration, TikTok integration status, and notification history for any reported errors.

Alerts do not appear in Discord

Verify the selected destination channel and the bot's View Channel, Send Messages, and Embed Links permissions, including channel-specific overrides.

Members receive repeated alerts

Once implemented, review cooldown settings, reminder frequency, and duplicate protection. Avoid using manual alerts repeatedly for the same stream.

The wrong creator can trigger a manual alert

This would be a permissions issue. Creator-to-Discord linking and manager authorization must be enforced before the manual feature is released.

Documentation updates

Tested commands, authorization instructions, supported TikTok capabilities, and known limitations will be added as the integration becomes available.
